chapter 21: LUMBERJACKIN'

As we drove out to the cabin, we spotted dozens of trees along the road that would be the perfect one for our little home. This was going to be easier than we thought!

We were able to drive right up to the cabin, through the snow, and {thank you to our wonderful Papa Robert} walked into a pre-warmed cabin with hot coals still in the stove. Benjamin reignited the flame and we cranked on all the space heaters. After blowing the circuits a few times, we realized it was a better idea to sleep in the living room by the fire to stay warm instead of having every space heater in the house on...

We curled up in our heated blanket, our first night, and watched the old Robin Hood
{with Kevin Costner. Classic}.

The one perfect Christmas Tree to take home and make our own. Benjamin got out the tools and did a fabulous job. He also dragged the 10 foot tree all the way back to the truck while I carried our gear {he's so strong!}

We were planning on staying another night, but decided to just head home and take care of our new tree. A good decision.
Merry Christmas to all!
