We celebrated Valentine's Day this year with a romantic camping get-away. We off-roaded up to the Owyhee Mountains and went places no ordinary vehicle could go and found a little nook to camp by a river.
We found a trail and hiked into the canyon for a couple hours and had fun teasing Desmond. Whenever he would be distracted by a plant...water...stick...bug...dirt...sound...air... etc... we would run away really fast and try to hide from him. He then would realize we were gone and run as fast as he could to catch up to us! We would start screaming and trying to run as fast as we could so he wouldn't pass us.
He always beat us.
Ben then pulled out all the stops!
Appetizer: Blackened green beans with a special spicy dipping sauce.
Main Course: Flame cooked lemon trout over the fire and zucchini couscous.
2nd Course: 3 cheese fondu with dipping breads.
Dessert: Homemade shortcake with strawberries and whipped cream.
Everything was beyond delicious and the most fancy camping food I've ever seen.
We turned in when the sun went down and tucked in tight in the back of the truck with our air mattress and pup.
Things got a little chill (it was February after all...) and our air mattress decided not to hold air... so around 4:00 AM we (mostly Husband who couldn't get to sleep) decided to head home.
V: sleeping.
B: wanna tell stories? Let's play a game. This is fun huh...
V: uhuh... sleeping...
B: I'm cold... wiggle wiggle wiggle... wanna go run around?
V: shhh....
...
...
...
B:are you asleep? I'm not asleep. Babe... are you awake? Wake up babe!
