After just one sunday in our new ward, and we knew it was the place for us. Less than a month in the family ward {vs. the lame-o married single's wards} Benjamin and I received callings. Ben is now the Deacon's Quorum Advisor and Assistant Scout Leader
and I am the Beehive Advisor.
We adore our new friends. I have discovered I get along swimmingly with 12 and 13 year olds
{maybe sometimes more than full-fledged adults}
and Ben is a hit with his boys.
We get to attend mutual together {or rather, will get to once Ben's work schedule lets up} and I get to attend girl's camp and ben; boy scout camp. We both teach on Sundays and are having a fabulous time! Ben has also been dubbed "the treat guy" and is in charge of bringing treats each week, which as a result, means my girls get treats each week. My challenge is to try and incorporate the treat into the lesson in some mind blowing way.
Last week, we also were "called" to attend the Genealogy Class:
Why is Vanessa excited?
she gets to learn more about genealogy
she prepares better to accept the family history church from her Mama
she gets to learn more about her heritage
she gets to spend two out of three hours of church sitting next to her hubby
Why is Benjamin excited?
we each get our own computer to play on
there is a big screen television in the classroom for presentations
he gets to spend two out of three hours of church sitting next to his wifey
